Westfield is known as the "Whip City" and was founded as a town in 1669 then later as a city in 1920. Located in the heart of western Massachusetts in Hampden County, Westfield is the second largest land area in Massachusetts.

Westfield is home of the Columbia Bicycle Manufacturing Company and the Westfield International Air Show that takes place during the month of August.

Grandmothers Garden and Amelia Park Ice Arena as well as the Children's Museum are some of the many Westfield attractions.

Trophies in over a dozen classes and every show car gets a free dash plaque. Run your ride on the airport runway in a 1/4 mile Free admission to public. Conflict RESOLUTION Training
This training is designed for emergency response volunteers looking to further develop their conflict resolution skills. All disciplines are welcome. The goal of this workshop is to build skills and increase confidence in the ability of volunteers, professionals and responders to successfully intervene in conflicts experienced between people in stressful emergency situations.  The training will use the type of conflicts experienced in Emergency Shelters between shelter staff/volunteers and those staying in the shelter as a focus. By the end of the training participants will: Build their capacity to de-escalate tense and stressful situations Learn and practice a simple model for resolving - and helping others resolve - conflicts Name key principles for successful longer-term resolution of conflicts Develop listening skills to help parties feel heard and build trust Identify key interests or needs which may be driving the situation Consider the effect of culture, power and difference in conflict situations Know next-steps for joining a Regional team of MRC volunteers who can assist in resolving conflicts in evaculation shelters and other emergency settings. This is a cost-free training funded by National Association of City and County Health Officials in partnership with Western MA Medical Reserve Corps.  The WMMRC and the Mediation and Training Collaborative of Community Action, Greenfield, will be facilitating this training.  Go here to learn more about TMTC.   Lunch will be provided.  REGISTRATION begins at 9:30am - please plan accordingly.      Questions call C.
